Billing and subscriptions

• Basic (Free): the core workflow, free and it stays free, no card required. Includes up to 5 shifts a month across self-invoiced, agency, and PAYE modes, up to 5 self-invoiced invoices per month, shift pay-check, workplace signed-link access, cross-role work, availability calendar, public profile, booking requests, notifications, referrals, cancellation terms on your sessions, the NMC revalidation tracker including the midwifery competency log and the portfolio PDF, and the whole appraisal engine: your professional record and its PDF and text exports, reflections written with Sandy or by voice, learning needs, the CPD evidence store and its bundle, the GMC appraisal pack, and every feedback report you have collected with its PDF and verification code.
• Plus: £14.99/month, starting with a 14-day free trial on your first paid plan. Everything in Basic, plus unlimited invoices and sessions, the Earnings page and payment tracking, automatic chasers, NHS Pension forms for GPs, expenses and mileage, receipts, the tax reserve and tax planning, the document store, the compliance passport and secure document share, Ask Sandy, booking confirmation emails, calendar sync, collecting feedback, and the ability to pause your subscription.
• Pro: £24.99/month. Everything in Plus, plus Xero sync, REST API access, advanced reporting, and priority email support.

Promo codes apply to new subscriptions. The discount applies to your first payment, or as the promotion specifies. You can cancel at any time during or after any discounted period.

Basic is free and needs no card. Plus and Pro start with a 14-day free trial the first time you subscribe: a card is taken at the start, nothing is charged until the trial ends, and you can cancel before then from your billing page. The trial is offered once per customer, so a returning subscriber is billed from the start of the new subscription.

If you cancel before the trial ends, you revert to Basic and are never charged. If you continue, billing begins automatically on day 15 at the plan price shown at checkout, less any promo code you applied.

You can choose between two billing cycles on Plus and Pro:

• Monthly: £14.99/month on Plus and £24.99/month on Pro, each starting with a 14-day free trial on your first paid plan. Cancel or change plan at any time.
• Annual: £149.99/year on Plus, or £249.99/year on Pro, paid upfront.

You can switch between monthly and annual billing from the billing page at any time. When switching to annual, you are charged the prorated difference for the remainder of your current period.

Taking a break from locum work? You can pause your subscription from the billing page. While paused, billing stops, your data stays safe and accessible, and you revert to Basic features until you resume.

If you cancel your subscription, you keep access to all paid features until the end of your current billing period. After the period ends, your account reverts to Basic. Your data is never deleted, and you can upgrade again at any time.

From the billing tab on your profile page you can upgrade or downgrade your plan, switch between monthly and annual billing, apply a promo code, pause or resume your subscription, update your payment method, view your billing history, and cancel your subscription.

Subscription management is handled securely through Stripe. Sessional never sees or stores your card details.
