Where the numbers come from

The BMA Sessional GP Pay Tracker is updated annually and is the closest thing to an authoritative recommended floor in UK general practice. The UK median and regional uplift factors are derived from Pulse Today locum-rate surveys (2025 to 2026), Locumate and Lantum aggregate data, and published rate cards from large GP federations and PCNs.

Figures are indicative. Your individual rate depends on negotiation, the specific booking, urgency, OOH or weekend uplifts, and the organisation. This tool exists to anchor the conversation, not to dictate it.
